Are you wondering if your child is ready for Kindergarten? Click on these links to find out:
- Students turning 5 years old between June 1, 2024 and December 1, 2024
may enroll in Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten. - Students turning 5 years old before June 1, 2024, will be enrolled in Kindergarten.
A child must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st to be eligible to attend Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
If a child is not five (5) years of age by the September 1, 2024 enrollment eligibility date but will be five (5) years of age no later than December 1, 2024, the parent or legal guardian of that child may enroll the child in transitional kindergarten or kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year if the parent or legal guardian notifies the school district in writing that they intend to enroll the child. A school district that receives this written notification may recommend to the parent or legal guardian of a child described in this subsection that the child is not ready to enroll in transitional kindergarten or kindergarten due to the child's age or other factors. However, regardless of this recommendation, the parent or legal guardian retains the sole discretion to determine whether or not to enroll the child under this subsection). Notification forms are available within the pre-enrollment process.
2024-2025 Enrollment (Clawson Residents)
Transitional Kindergarten - 12th Grade
Follow the steps below to begin the enrollment process.
STEP 1:
Gather the required enrollment documents that you must provide to complete your child's enrollment. Scan (most cell phones can scan/take a picture and save documents) and save the required documents to your computer. The documents will be uploaded during the online pre-enrollment process.
STEP 2:
Access the online forms found on the Clawson Pre-Enrollment page by clicking this link.
STEP 3:
Scroll down to the bottom of the Clawson Pre-Enrollment page. Click on Start a New Pre-Enrollment. Complete each step and click the Submit Pre-Enrollment to Clawson Schools button on Step 6. Step 6 turns from red to yellow when complete.

2024-2025 School of Choice Program (Non-Residents) 2nd Semester
We are pleased that you are interested in having your child attend Clawson Public Schools. We believe the District offers an excellent comprehensive educational program for its students. The following information will further explain and provide the procedure for considering your child for acceptance into our Schools of Choice program.
2024-2025 School of Choice Program - 2nd Semester Only
Clawson Public Schools is accepting School of Choice applications for the 2nd semester of the 2024-2025 school year. Applications will be accepted Monday, January 13, 2025, through Friday, January 24, 2025. Families must reside in an Oakland County School District to apply. Please click here for the School of Choice information, open grade levels, and the number of openings available per grade level and to begin the application and enrollment process.
Information, Criteria, and Application Procedures
Below are the information and criteria for the Clawson Public Schools Schools of Choice Program. Please read this material carefully before applying:
- Students must reside in the Oakland County Intermediate School District.
- If a student receives special education services, an Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) and MET must accompany the application for Schools of Choice.
- Falsification of the requested information may disqualify a student from being considered for admission or may result in removal from Clawson Public Schools if enrolled under false information.
- Students who have been expelled at any time from any school district or convicted of a felony will not be considered for admission.
- Students who have been suspended during the past two years may be refused admission. Special consideration will be determined by the Superintendent of Schools and the Building Principal, depending on the severity of the issue(s).
- Clawson Public Schools is not responsible for providing transportation for Section 105, Schools of Choice Students.
- Clawson Public Schools will comply with the requirements of Senate Bill 851, 1996 Public Act 300, Section 105/105c (Schools of Choice).
Application Procedure
All enrollments will be done online, including uploading the required documents during the pre-enrollment process.
Follow the steps below to have your child considered for acceptance into our Schools of Choice program.
STEP 1:

STEP 3:
Complete the online Schools of Choice Application by clicking the link located at
the top of the Clawson Pre-Enrollment page.
STEP 4:
Scroll down to the bottom of the Clawson Pre-Enrollment page and click on Start a New Pre-Enrollment. Complete each step and click submit when done.
STEP 5:
Parents will be contacted by Jill LaPine when the Schools of Choice Application is approved or denied.
